 Bariatric Surgery

St. Paul Surgeons has been providing comprehensive surgical care for the morbidly obese for over 30 years. In a time when popular opinion was that morbid obesity was an issue of self-control, our surgeons recognized that it was a medical issue with devastating consequences to health, and that surgery was the only reliable tool for long term successful weight loss.

Dr. William Rupp, Dr. Peter Kelly and Dr. James McGreevy specialize in Bariatric Surgery.   In 2005 our surgeons, together with United Hospital, achieved the designation "Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence" by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.  We offer a complete program that includes extensive pre-surgical assessment and education, and solid support following surgery - critical to helping patients achieve their goals of better health, increased self-esteem and improved quality of life. There are few bariatric centers that offer the breadth of experience or quality of follow-up that we have.
